Kalmia 2020
Mountain Laurel, Kalmia (kal′mē ə), is the state flower of Pennsylvania and is often discovered as you hike through the Endless Mountains. These gorgeous blooms, which grow up to ten feet high, mark that summer is upon us. This Sangiovese is smooth with notes of caramel, cherry, and orange blossom honey.

An absolute gem from Grovedale Winery—Kalmia is a Sangiovese that hits all the right notes and then some. From the first pour, its rich garnet hue hinted at the depth to come. The nose was warm and inviting, with subtle notes of cherry, dried herbs, and a touch of earthy spice.
On the palate, Kalmia delivers everything you want in a Sangiovese—ripe red fruit, a hint of tobacco, and just the right balance of acidity and tannin. It's bold without being overpowering, smooth yet structured, and incredibly drinkable. We found ourselves savoring every glass.
Pair it with good company, and you've got a perfect evening. This wine is a testament to what Pennsylvania winemaking can achieve. We loved it. Five stars. Will absolutely be back for more.
Not our first time there. Wines are outstanding. Patio is a great place to hang out with friends and enjoy some wine.
Kalmia is an excellent Sangiovese with fruit forward notes of spice and cherries and a great finish.
