• Look: Hold the glass by the stem - this prevents the warmth of your hand from affecting the temperature of the wine - and check out the wine's color and clarity.
• Swirl: Give your glass a gentle swirl.  This lets the wine breathe and releases its aromas.
• Smell: Don't be shy.  It feels akward, but it’s best to stick your nose in and inhale.  Take note of the flavors you smell.
• Sip: Take a small sip and let it roll around in your mouth.  Pay attention to the flavors, otherwise known as notes.  Do you like it?  Is it sweet or dry?
