The Best PA Winery for Your First Wine Tasting

Visiting a winery for a tasting for the first time may feel intimidating, particularly if you are new to wine drinking and feel like you just don’t know much about wine.  Good news... when you visit Grovedale, the best PA winery, we don’t take ourselves too seriously and are here to help you!  We love newbie wine drinkers and want to help you find a wine that you love, no previous experience necessary.  However, if you’re the type who likes to be prepared, we’ve got you covered.

What Happens at a Wine Tasting

Oak, stainless, trillium, and Vidal blanc.  If these words don’t mean anything to you, that’s ok!  That’s what a tasting is for!  One of the best things about visiting the best PA winery is the opportunity to learn more about wine varietals, flavors, and the wine making process.  You can enjoy just a taste of a variety of wines to help you learn.

  • Pour List: Most wineries will provide you with a pour list.  This is a list of the wines in your flight or available for tasting.  It often includes information about the notes (or flavors) in the wine, information about the winemaking process, and pricing.  As you sip your wine, use this to take notes about what you taste and what you do and don’t like.
  • Ask Questions: As you’re learning, take the opportunity to ask any and every question.  You have a wine expert available to you so take advantage!  Ask questions about the wine, the process, and food pairing suggestions.  We promise that they’ll love to help you.  There’s no such thing as a bad question.
  • Make a Purchase: Once you’ve found what you like, purchase a few bottles to take home.  And if you’d like to continue on your wine education journey, inquire about wine club options to get bottles shipped to your home on a regular basis.
  • Friendly Reminder: Pace yourself as you go.  While the tastings may be small, they add up.  And don’t feel like you have to finish a taste you don’t enjoy.  No offense taken, we promise.
